Media Literacy In-Person

In an age of deepfakes, can we trust what we see? The short answer is: NO!

Misinformation and disinformation have reached high levels of sophistication with the rise of generative AI. Developing specific skills and habits to better navigate the world is a step in the right direction.

Attendees will learn how to:

  • SIFT: learn the 4 habits of digital discernment (theory)
  • Play Misinformation Jeopardy to detect fake news (interactive practice)
  • Conduct reverse image searches (media literacy tool)

Workshop Incentive Program: Any student who attends a library workshop will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes. Raffle will be held at the end of every semester. This year's prizes include: a Stonehill fleece blanket, tote bag, and other Stonehill branded merch.
